About the Artist

Greetings! I am a collage artist and watercolor painter living in Niles, Michigan. My designs are inspired by the pleasure of bringing into focus simple, peaceful lines observed in nature — forms that sometimes go unnoticed in our rushed and complex lives.

Most of my collages are constructed on paper hand made from grasses, leaves and other plants. I fell into creating collages almost by chance, much as I often come upon design ideas by taking notice of a random contour or pattern in the natural world. I've been making collages since 2010.

Painting is a newer adventure for me, beginning in 2017. Many of my paintings are similar in style to the collages, incorporating simple lines, abstract plant and floral images, and utilizing empty space.

Though mostly self taught, I have studied with paper artists Andrea Peterson and Helen Hiebert, and with watercolor painters Paul Alie and Angela Fehr. I also took classes in Islamic Art and Design at the Prince's School of Traditional Arts in London.

I've been fortunate to exhibit my work in Massachusetts at the Watertown Public Library, Concord Art Center, and Audubon Moose Hill Gallery; in South Bend, Indiana at the First Unitarian Church, the Jewish Federation of St. Joseph County, the Colfax Cultural Center, and CircaArts; and in Michigan at the Niles District Library, the Buchanan Art Center and the West End Gallery.

Thanks for visiting my website. I hope you enjoy the paintings and collages!
